A Red Ramshorn Snail (aka Bright Red Ramshorn Snail or Red Ram's Horn Snail) is a colorful aquarium snail that is great for adding some decoration to your aquarium setup, but also serves some very useful purposes! It essentially acts as a fish tank clearer by wiping off glass or acrylic aquarium walls, fish tank plants (such as java moss, moneywort, etc.), aquarium decorations, and tank substrate. This freshwater snail consumes uneaten fish food and biofilm. Their shell colors are most commonly shades of pink, but the spectrum ranges from bright pink to dark red or maroon. This snail will arrive young and pea-sized, but may sometimes be smaller. Within two months, even the smallest snail will be adult breeding size, and the beautiful shell color will intensify as the snail ages. Ultimately, these snails can grow up to 1 or 2 inches in diameter as full-grown adult snails. These snails are peaceful and can make a great addition to just about any kind of fish aquarium or plant tank. They are totally safe with any nonaggressive fish, shrimp, other freshwater snails, and other aquarium animals. NOTE: Ramshorn snails are not picky at all about their water parameters, and they tend to reproduce like crazy in almost any conditions. If you run into problems with snail overpopulation, a few Assassin Snails will quickly take care of the problem. Because of their fast breeding, Ramshorn snails make an excellent live food starter colony for any fish that eats snails, such as Puffers.CARE GUIDELINES:- Temperature: 60° - 80° F (15.6° - 26.7° C) - pH: 7.0+ - KH: 2 - 15 dKH - Minimum tank size: 2 gallons per snail - Average adult size: 1.5 - 2" (3.8 - 5 cm) - Average purchase size: 1/2 - 1" (1.3 - 6.4 cm)
