Basic, Stiff Gooseneck Microphone Holder
This gooseneck microphone holder comes in an unbranded plain box with the three separate components inside. First we have the desk clamp. This uses a metal bar to tighten or loosen the screw thread which connects to a metal cup which clamps to the work surface. The cup is plain metal with no rubberised non-slip top or edging. The central pin which holds the cup extends upwards. We were concerned this pin might damage the surface and tested it on the cardboard box to check. Sure enough, there was a definite indentation in the cardboard from the pin. So, we'd suggest some padding on top of the cup to improve grip and prevent damage to the work surface. The black plastic-coated flexible gooseneck arm screws into the clamp. There are two threaded holes on the top of the clamp which can be used, plus another on the side. The arm has a smaller metal thread on one end to connect to the clamp and a larger one on the other for the microphone holder. The microphone holder is a pretty basic affair. It has a cable cut-out on the top, while the angle can be adjusted with a pivot joint which is held together with a crosshead bolt. It doesn't give the impression of being overly robust. The gooseneck arm screws directly into the holder. There is no adjustment or tightening ring. If it's not facing the right way when fully tightened, you have to twist the gooseneck. However, the gooseneck arm is pretty stiff and difficult to adjust. No doubt it will free up after time, but initially at least it isn't that easy to position or shape. Often presentation speakers will adjust the microphone arm to suit their personal preference, but the stiffness of this arm would probably make them think it's held in a fixed position. That stiffness means it's good at supporting heavier microphones, cables and connectors though. So, this gooseneck microphone holder does the job but isn't the easiest to adjust and doesn't give us a huge amount of confidence about its durability.

Microphone stand
The sturdiness of the stand is very good Glad I purchased. It is easy to set up and has a very strong clamp

Price for the quality.
It does work and can easily be set up on a tabletop with the included clamp. The clamp is metal, quite cheap quality and it's worth putting something between the metal parts and your table to prevent leaving marks. The goose neck arm just screws in and then the clip screws into the top where the microphone sits. The clip is non-adjustable, so will work with a handheld microphone and not much else. Also it's fairly heavy and does stay upright provided you attach it to the table firmly. The gooseneck is horrible to position though. Very stiff and doesn't feel nice quality at all. Not that flexible and a pain to reposition. It's basic, it works, but not worth the price for the quality in my opinion.
